#KeepCalm: Evacuation in Sandton part of a routine drill
SANDTON – Old Mutual in Sandton recently had a planned evacuation.
A planned evacuation took place in Sandton as part of a routine drill.
This according to Elaine Jack, City Improvement District manager of Sandton Central Management District who said the routine drill took place at Old Mutual’s premises as per the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
“JMPD and Disaster Management, as well as Sandton Central, were there to support and assist with the evac drill simulation,” she said.
Jack added that all of Old Mutual staff and the tenants in the building were part of the evacuation.
“All stakeholders and neighbours were informed two weeks prior so that traffic was minimally impacted along Stella Street.”
