11 injured as minibus taxi flips on the M1 in Sandton

Multiple people were injured when a taxi overturned this morning on the M1 near the Marlboro on-ramp.

Netcare 911 responded to reports of a serious minibus taxi crash just after 6am. In addition, paramedics from private and provincial ambulance services responded to the incident and attended to the injured occupants.

Eleven people were transported by various ambulances to hospitals for further assessment and care.

Nine people sustained relatively minor injuries while two sustained moderate injuries.
The Johannesburg Metro Police Department was on the scene to investigate the incident.
