Concern over HPV vaccine

Anita Wroblewski writes:

I think the article on the front page, What is HPV vaccine? (Week ending 9 March), needs to come with a serious warning for parents who choose to vaccinate their little girls with the HPV vaccine.

There are ongoing (serious) controversy and (heartbreaking) lawsuits involving the makers of these vaccines. The HPV vaccine uptake rates (2017) are down in Columbia, Denmark, Ireland, Sweden, Spain, New Zealand, France, Canada and India.

I would highly recommend that parents do some research.

The public needs to make a more informed choice and you, as our local newspaper, could encourage them to do so. If there are similar comments from other readers, I ask that you consider publishing a warning against the HPV vaccine side effects so that a parent can make an informed choice.

On a personal note, a friend who vaccinated two daughters has had health problems with them both and vowed not to vaccinate her third daughter. Another friend’s daughter struggled with a life-threatening response to the vaccine.
