Sandton police recover hijacked vehicle after high-speed chase in Kelvin

KELVIN – A hijacked vehicle was recovered a day later after it was seen driving through Kelvin.

Thanks to the speedy response of Sandton Guardians, ZSS Security, Duma Tactical, CAP and other local security companies, Sandton police were able to recover a hijacked vehicle in Bramley on 21 February.

According to the spokesperson for Sandton Police Station, Captain Granville Meyer, the vehicle was stolen in Bramley on 20 February and recovered on 21 February after driving through Kelvin.

A high-speed chase commenced at about 7.40pm on 21 February after the stolen vehicle was flagged in Kelvin. During the car chase with the police, the stolen vehicle rolled out of control and into the veldt, after which the suspects fled across the highway.

The recovered vehicle was badly damaged in the incident.

According to Meyer, no suspects have been arrested as yet.
