Redhill swimmers crawl to victory in Johannesburg North gala

SANDTON – Redhill takes to the water like a sailor takes to rum in their first swimming gala of the season.

The Redhill Swimming Team competed in its first gala of the season on 25 January, competing against Trinity House, Northcliff Band Maragon College.

“Swimming in the B league, our swimmers were expecting a tough competition, since some of the competing schools swim in the A-League. However, the Redhill Swimming Team demonstrated just how powerful their skill, tenacity and school spirit are by winning the gala convincingly,” said Joseph Gerassi, executive head of Redhill and head of swimming.

Redhill School placed first, with 675 points. Trinity House placed second, with 563 points; Northcliff B came in third with 406 points and Maragon College placed fourth with 395 points.

“These are exceptional results, especially since some of the schools compete in the A-League, and this was our first gala of the year. I think the swimming team did an outstanding job!”
