ICYMI: 17 injured as bakkie carrying workers overturns in Gallo Manor

SANDTON – Reports from the scene indicate that a car and a bakkie were involved in the collision and the bakkie which was carrying workers on the back then overturned.

At approximately 6.45am on Thursday, 25 January, Netcare 911 dispatched resources to reports of a serious collision on Kelvin Drive near Bowling Avenue in Gallo Manor.

Reports from the scene indicate that a car and a bakkie were involved in the collision and the bakkie which was carrying workers on the back then overturned. Paramedics, Fire Fighters and Police attended to the incident.

According to Nick Dollman, Netcare inland media liaison, paramedics from Netcare 911 and other services attended to 17 injured people at the scene. Two had sustained moderate injuries while 15 were fortunate to escape with relatively minor injuries.

All of the patients were in a stable condition and were transported by ambulances to different hospitals for further assessment and care.

The JMPD were at the scene are scene and are investigating the incident.
