Four suspects arrested following house robbery

SANDTON – The Sandton police recently arrested four suspects for house robbery.

Sandton police recently arrested four suspects following a house robbery at Mooi Rivier Way in Gallo Manor.

According to Sandton Police Station commander Brigadier Egen Moodley, a domestic worker was allegedly held up by three suspects who forced a door open and stole various items from the residence.

“She managed to press the panic button and the suspects fled,” said Moodley.

He said the police were alerted and at about 11.45am the suspects were spotted driving a grey Hyundai i20 with false registration plates on the corner of Cambridge and Cowley streets in Bryanston.

Moodley said the vehicle was stopped and the four suspects and the vehicle were searched. “Two LG flatscreen televisions, a laptop battery and an iPhone which was stolen was found.

“They also found housebreaking implements, gloves and balaclavas in the vehicle. The vehicle had false number plates on and the VIN number tested positive on a Boksburg North hijacking case which occurred in August.”

Moodley said the four suspects were arrested and detained at the station for house robbery, possession of stolen property, housebreaking implements and a hijacked vehicle.

The suspects are all from Alex and are between 27 and 37 years old.
