A video of what is alleged to be the notorious Rolex gang is doing the rounds on social media showing a driver being targeted while refuelling at a petrol station in Illovo on 9 July.
Captain Molefe Mogodi of the Bramley Police Station confirmed that at about 3.50pm the victim was filling up with fuel at the petrol station when four suspects pulled up next to him.
They were driving a white Mercedes and threatened the victim with firearms. It is alleged that they demanded his wristwatch and car keys, which he handed over. The suspects then got back into their vehicle and drove away. The footage shows one suspect walking directly to the victim’s vehicle beforehand to check for valuables.
No one has been arrested and police are investigating.
