Rotary Club of Sandton helps the Guild Cottage kitchen with a total makeover

SANDTON - The Guild Cottage kitchen gets a delicious revamp.

The club has supported the Guild Cottage, which is a residential treatment home for sexually abused and traumatised girls, for a number of years through various donations including a minibus, computers and sports equipment.

The home has been based in the same building that it occupied since its establishment in 1907, and the club identified the need to refurbish the kitchen to provide improved living conditions for the girls placed in the home.

The Rotary Club through the generous contribution of its donors was able to design a new kitchen for the home and install new kitchen appliances.

The new kitchen was designed by KDH Catering Design Concepts and Cater Care which also supplied the specialised kitchen equipment included in the refurbished industrial kitchen design.

The construction was undertaken by various companies among them, Helm Construction, WAM Electrical, Solid Ceilings, A. Dudley and Sons, Yellow Dot Coatings and Punctual Plumbers. The refurbishment which was managed by Jualanne Onofri of J G Hughes Architects took two weeks.
