Gift of the Givers gets a helping hand from St David’s Marist Inanda

SANDTON – St David's Marist Inanda donates 200 buckets filled with non-perishable food items to Gift of the Givers.

 

A project by a St David’s Marist Inanda mother, whereby 200 buckets were filled with non-perishable food items for families in need, has inspired generosity among the prep school.

The prep school donated filled buckets to Gift of the Givers.

St David’s teacher, Cherie Smith, ensured that each class received 10 buckets to fill and the boys brought in specific non-perishable items to contribute to their class buckets.

The buckets were laid out in the shape of the number 200 and a special prep school assembly was held on 10 May.

Headmaster Graeme Edwards led the assembly along with Mark Pillai from Gift of the Givers who was the guest of honour.

During the assembly, Pillai said, “I thank all the boys for their contribution. Your support through the bucket donation will assist in our work of delivering assistance and humanitarian aid to those most in need.”

St David’s boys load the trucks with 200 buckets.

 

Pillai congratulated thanked St David’s for the ongoing support, partnership and commitment to helping those less fortunate.

The boys then assisted Gift of the Givers with loading the 200 buckets into the organisation’s truck as their final act of service.
