Suspects arrested for numerous crimes

SANDTON – More suspects are behind bars thanks to the good work of Sandton police officers.

 

Sandton Police Station arrested three suspects for crimes which included an attempted murder, a hit-and-run incident and an armed robbery.

On 16 February at about 10pm in Bryanston, a suspect was arrested shortly after a man was allegedly stabbed multiple times in the arm and on the body.

Constable David Mothapo, spokesperson for Sandton Police Station said, “A call was received from a member of the public and when the police arrived they found a seriously injured man who was stabbed. He was unable to speak and taken to hospital.”

Mothapo added that the victim’s right arm was allegedly almost severed during the attack. He said the property where the incident occurred was searched and the suspect was found hiding in an empty swimming pool.

In another incident, a man was arrested for an alleged armed robbery which occurred on 15 February.

“The suspect [allegedly] held up a woman at gunpoint in her car, ordering her to hand over her laptop bag containing a laptop, tablet and bank cards.”

In the third case, a hit-and-run suspect was arrested for an incident which happened on 9 September last year.

The suspects will appear in court facing their respective charges.
