Redhill School dances to the top

SANDTON – Redhill School takes to the dance floor in their first dance competition of the year.

 

Redhill School hosted its first dance sports event of the year, and according to the schoolchildren, it was a great success.

Ross Armstrong, in Grade 8, recently qualified for the upcoming Worlds X11 Street Dance Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, in two crew events as a hip-hop dancer.

“Redhill School is very proud of Ross and wishes him all the best going forward,” said Richard Sibeko, communications officer for the school.

More than 105 dancers competed in the competition and the following Redhill dancers were placed in their respective age divisions:

U16 girls

  • Siyalini Naidoo in 2nd place
  • Michelle Kafe in 3rd place
  • Savannah Ellis in 4th place
  • Tayla Alexander in 5th place.

U16 boys

  • Tinashe Chitakira in 2nd place
  • Drew David in 3rd place
  • Kamau Nganga in 5th place.

U14 girls

  • Toni-Mapula Mepa in 4th place.

U14 boys

  • Ross Armstrong in 1st place.
