Yoga session coming to Maboneng

MABONENG – Get roaming, relaxing and exploring with the Roving Yoga Studio.

The Roving Yoga Studio (Rys) is making its way to Maboneng, and promoting physical and mental wellness all the while.

Established in June, Rys is taking a new approach to the art of yoga and making it more exciting than ever before.

The classes offered by instructor, Hajira Didat, offer yoga lovers a unique and exciting experience where they can find a place of serene relaxation, get super social with other yogis and even get to check out a new and interesting venue each time they join in on the roving fun.

“I had two yoga teachers who taught me various styles of yoga. I also taught for Planet Fitness, privately and with my teacher, but then I moved to Cape Town where I continued to teach and then I moved back,” she explained the chain of events leading up to the launch of Rys.

“I realised that there are so many different studios teaching yoga, and I also wanted to incorporate my teachings of reiki [a healing technique based on the principles of energy transfer and touch] and do life coaching, so I didn’t want to get into a studio right away. So the idea, here, is to get people open to the idea of yoga. A studio can be an intimidating place, so that’s why we’re going outside, kicking off the shoes and making it interesting.”

Each class takes yogis to a new and interesting venue; with the next class taking place on 4 September at The Living Room in Maboneng.

Other interesting venues that have set the scene for these yoga sessions include Stornoway Lodge in Lanseria, The Union Buildings in Pretoria and the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens near Emmarentia Dam.

“Say goodbye to the dull four walls of sterile studios and boring routine, and open yourself up to exciting social experiences in unpredictable, breathtaking venues – anywhere,” said Didat.

Don’t forget to take your yoga mat and enjoy the rejuvenating effects of each yoga pose.
