Mobile zoo visits Tiny Town

SANDTON – A mobile zoo with exotic animals went to visit a local junior college.

Junior Colleges Tiny Town in Sandton received a visit from a mobile zoo where the children were educated on selecting suitable house pets.

Fanie Barnardt of the mobile zoo said the zoo was a fun learning experience where children learnt and interacted with different animals.

“They learn where the animals come from, their lifespan and their habits and behaviours. All the animals are rescues and people do not always realise that the animals they buy at pet shops are not always suited as pets,” said Barnardt.

The mobile zoo brought a range of exotic animals, some of which are not always suitable as pets, for the children to see and interact with under supervision. Some of the animals included chinchillas, tenrecs, hedgehogs, marmoset monkeys, bearded dragons, snakes and birds.
