A time of enlightenment

FOURWAYS – Buy your tickets to enjoy a luxury dinner-theatre experience.

Lumiere, a luxury dinner-theatre experience, will be presented in South Africa for the first time in September, immersing patrons in the exuberance and enlightenment that signified the Golden Age of Paris, complete with fine Courvoisier cognac.

To be hosted by Mi Casa’s musical frontman and acclaimed chef, Joao da Fonseca, also known as J’Something, Lumiere will transport patrons to the time of hope, light and beauty of Paris’s Belle Epoque period. The events will be held at two establishments, Signature Restaurant in Morningside on 6 September, and Nineteen Restaurant in Steyn City on 22 September.

“Everything that the world knows and loves about Paris, which is the architecture, the music, the art, the romance and the Eiffel Tower itself, are all from this golden age. I cannot wait to partner with such an iconic brand as Courvoisier in order to bring the enlightenment to life,” Da Fonseca said.

Da Fonseca, together with renowned executive chefs, Roberto De Carvalho and Bryce Grantham, will put together six-course tasting menus with accompanying scents, musical arrangements and signature Courvoisier tasting cocktails and pairings designed to accentuate the aroma of each blend, giving patrons the opportunity to celebrate the age that perfected it.

A crafted, authentic cognac with a rich history, Courvoisier’s recent transformation highlights its Parisian heritage, embodying the joie de vivre that defined the Golden Age.

“Courvoisier is excited to present the dinner series in South Africa after a successful launch in Paris, France. Patrons who join us for this exclusive evening will experience ‘the enlightenment’ as J’ Something takes them on a journey of indulgence. With his exceptional background in food, music and entertainment, we believe J’ Something to be the perfect host for this unforgettable event,” managing director of ABV brands, Daniel Hawkins said.

Courvoisier will award both venues with ‘The Enlightened’ plaques to signify their participation in the extraordinary event.

Tickets are available from Webtickets at R1 400 per person, all inclusive.
