Sabda donates for Mandela Day

SANDTON – Sabda donated gifts to patients at Tara Hospital for Mandela Day.

For Mandela Day, the Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorders Alliance (Sabda) donated and distributed gifts of bathroom toiletries and stationery to patients at Tara Hospital.

The gifts were distributed to 50 of the patients at the hospital who possess little to nothing in terms of personal possessions. It is the future goal of Sabda that gift packs can be given to each patient who enters the hospital as part of the admissions process.

The gifts were put together from donations from Dischem Cresta, Pick n Pay, Coachman’s Crossing and GCG Trading and Sabda expressed their gratitude to these organisations.

For more than 25 years, there has been a co-operation between Tara Hospital and Sabda, which was previously known as Friends of Tara. Sabda also donated the gifts as a thank you to Tara Hospital for the assistance that the hospital has provided to the organisation over the years.
