SANDTON – The French School in Sandton helped their pupils learn about the world through art.

 

The French School in Sandton did an art exercise with their pupils to help them learn about the world.

Grade 00 teacher, Sandrine Juillard said, “Our project for the past two months was to discover the different countries, cultures and arts around the world. Pupils learned about India, Native North Americans, South America, Asia, Europe and of course, Africa.”

She added that the pupils studied stories, habitats, dress codes, religions, food and songs from each part of the world.

“It was a very nice way of discovering other people. In our school, all our pupils speak French but they are from 80 different nationalities. They were happy to share what they know about their own country of origin with their partners.”

The pupils expressed what they had learnt on the world through art and presented an exhibition of their drawings and paintings to their parents.

“They performed a nice show of songs and dances, wearing traditional costumes. It was a delight,” concluded Sandrine.
