Eduweek to host workshops

JOBURG - EduWeek is set to showcase and discuss innovation in education.

 

Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand will act as the perfect venue for the influential and informative EduWeek Exhibition, in partnership with SABC Education and Intel educational, it will see various topics such as early childhood development, teacher training and technology discussed.

The event will take place on 29 and 30 June from 10am to 6pm.

Celebrating 10 years of advancing education knowledge in Africa, along with a newly-signed five-year partnership with the Department of Basic Education, the exhibition will host more than 4 000 educational professionals and 150 education product and solution providers which will give their insight into the future of education.

Speaking at a media briefing about the exhibition in Sandton earlier this year, country manager of Intel, Videsha Proothveerajh said, “EduWeek brings the right people together to showcase and discuss innovation in education. For three years, this has been the ideal platform for Intel to engage with thought leaders in the education space.”

Entrance to the event is free.

Education professionals qualified in education technology, vocational and higher education, inclusive education and early childhood development will host free training sessions dedicated to the attendees’ specific needs.

Spokesperson for the event, Annie Fyfe-Hitchings said, “No other education event this year will offer visitors the opportunity to meet top innovators such as Intel, Microsoft, Dell, Lenovo, HP, Smartlabs, Cambridge International Examinations, A+Students, ITEC, Vastratech, Positivo, Mustek and many more. Hands-on product demonstrations, live practical workshops, one-on-one tutorials and interactive features await to inspire and enthuse.

“EduWeek offers four brand-new EduTheatre’s, each of which will host two full days of quality, free practical and interactive sessions dedicated to early childhood development, vocational and higher education, inclusive education and basic education. Each EduTheatre session has been intricately designed to not only inspire and enthuse a passion for education but also to provide attendees with practical take-homes that they can apply in their own teaching environment.”
