Working mothers … the wait is over

JOBURG – For the first time in South Africa, the Working Mothers Expo, in partnership with MiWayLife, will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre on 4 and 5 November.

These days, it’s not unusual for a woman to balance a career with a load of household chores, childcare and an active social life. Unfortunately, she is not considered to be Superwomen for doing this, it is simply expected of her.

The Working Mothers Expo will be geared to meet the needs of working mothers in today’s society. The expo will give mothers access to a number of products and services that may help them manage their busy lives.

There will also be an exciting Speakers’ Corner that will feature some of the country’s most influential working mothers who will share their inspiration and insight into filling the role of wife, partner, mother, business owner, professional, daughter and friend.

“We hope to see the Working Mothers Expo become a permanent fixture on the expo calendar as a forum for working mothers to share with us and learn from others how best to achieve a sustainable work-life balance,” said Craig Baker, CEO of MiWayLife.

Exhibitors will cover an array of topics such as business and career opportunities, personal development, financial health, returning to work, child development and stimulation and much more. Those who attend will be able to soak in everything at their leisure, stop at the speakers who inspire them or even relax with a much-needed massage or manicure.

Janice Windt, managing director of Working Mothers Expo, explained, “We will offer working mothers something they desperately need: A space in which to take a precious moment for themselves, share ideas and solutions to match their unique needs and concerns and to realise that they are not in this alone. Working mothers and mothers to be will find a great deal of support and inspiration, all within an environment geared towards making them feel pampered and appreciated.”
