JOHANNESBURG – Don’t let another weekend pass you by without checking out one of these awesome events …

The Epicene Butcher and other stories for Consenting Adults

Until 24 January

From 8pm

At P.O.P Art, 286 Fox Street

Tickets are R100 online and R120 at the door.

Written by Gwydion Beynon, directed by John Trengove and performed by Jemma Kahn and Klara van Wyk, the Butcher is back by popular demand. In this incredible production, the art of kamishibai has been misused by the creators in order to tell stories of lust, beauty, honour and violence. Kamishibai literally means ‘paper drama’ and refers to the art of storytelling that originally came from Japanese Buddhist temples, where scrolls of paper with pictures were used to tell a story.
