Put on your running shoes and get fit

JOBURG - If you're wanting to burn calories and get your fitness levels up, then what better way to do it than by participating in a 5km run in the Modderfontein Reserve.

Every Saturday morning at 8am, groups of people gather and embark on a 5km run which comprises a mixture of uneven tarmac, gravel and grass paths. Dependent on availability, marshals are present at key sections of the course and signs are in place to guide runners.

It is completely free but participants need to register before they run. To register, runners must bring a printed copy of their ID document.

Community members are also urged to volunteer as a marshal.
