Police bust three with suspected stolen goods

EDENBURG – Sandton police recently bust three suspects allegedly found with stolen goods in Edenburg, Sandton, while officers were patrolling the area.

Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for Sandton police, explained that during a patrol, the officers on duty received information of a housebreaking in progress.

“The police immediately responded and upon arrival, found a vehicle in the yard full of stolen goods,” he said.

As the driver of the vehicle approached the car, the police and security guards proceeded to question him on who the owner of the car was, to which the suspect responded that he was hired by the suspects to drive the car and knew nothing about the incident.

The man was promptly arrested and charged with housebreaking and theft before the police pounced on two other suspects in the same yard.

“The suspects were detained at Sandton Police Station and were charged. They have since appeared at the Randburg Magistrates’ Court,” Maphakela said.

He confirmed that the three remained in custody and are yet to appear for a bail application.
