Hilton Sandton Hotel celebrates global month of service with Sandton police

SANDTON –The Sandton police were recently treated to a special visit from volunteers of Hilton Sandton Hotel as part of the hotel’s global month of service initiative.

The visit saw 15 volunteers from the hotel present police officers with a specially-made cake as a gesture of appreciation for the hard work they have done within the community.

Gert Venter, manager of the hotel, touched briefly on the special relationship between the police and the hotel.

“We enjoy a great working relationship with Sandton police and wanted to recognise them for diligence and commitment in their efforts to provide us with a crime-free environment within which to operate,” he said.

“Sandton is a community and everyone has a role to play, and today we had a chance to recognise a team who are integral to the safety of our Sandton community.”

The visit took place on 15 October at the Sandton Police Station.

The hotel’s global month of service initiative runs for the duration of October and will also include road safety awareness training, in partnership with the Road Traffic Management Corporation, at Carter Primary School in Alexandra.
