Lonehill pupil taps to the top OR A star in the making

LONEHILL – Lonehill resident and four-time South African Irish Dance Championships winner, Kian Steytler, recently qualified for the 2016 World Irish Dance Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, which will run from 20 to 27 March next year.

The championships, held at Beaulieu College from 2 to 4 October, saw dancers perform three dance routines with the third performance being a solo step dance routine – all adjudicated by a panel of independent judges from Ireland.

Steytler, who started dancing at the age of six, attends dance practise seven hours a week at the Sue Driver School of Dance. His dance teachers, Sue Driver and Greg Moss, are delighted that he has qualified. “It’s wonderful, we are very excited,” said Driver.
