Sandton shul launches Friday night live

SANDTON – Friday nights just got more exciting following an announcement of the launch of Friday Night Live by the Sandton shul.

The addition to the normal Friday services will take place every Friday at 6.15pm and will include a joyful, meaningful and upbeat shabbos service, which is a prayer service welcoming the sabbath, which will be followed by a lively recital of prayer over a cup of wine called kiddush, and a buffet-style meal called the brocha.

Rabbi Ari Kievman of the shul explained the purpose behind launching the exciting service. “We put this together as a way to encourage those working in Sandton to come to our shul for their shabbos service and socialise before heading home,” he said.

Kievman added that no prior affiliation or membership was necessary and there would be no charge, but donations were welcome.
