Uber and Park and Ride offer free services following bridge collapse
SANDTON - Mayor of Johannesburg Parks Tau announced that the Park and Ride services would be free on 15 October, while Uber has said it is offering free rides up to R250.
The mayors announcement was made at the scene of the Bridge Collapse in Sandton.
Tau told media that he wanted to encourage members of the public to use public transport, in support of EcoMobility month.

Uber made their announcement via Twitter, saying rides to and from the Gautrain station would be free until 9pm tonight [14 October].
Following the M1 highway bridge collapse, we're offering free rides up to R250 to & from Gautrain stations until 9pm tonight. Stay safe.
