947 station manager robbed at gunpoint

BRYANSTON - It is reported that 947 station manager Ravi Naidoo was robbed at gunpoint by three suspects in the driveway of a Bryanston home on the evening of 27 August.

UPDATE – 28 August, 9.35am:

Public relations manager for 947 Radio Pippa Rowles said that Naidoo was at a family friend’s home to pick up his daughter when three armed suspects approached him in the driveway.

Before making their way into the home, they took Naidoo cell phone, laptop and iPad. As they made their way into the home, the robbery was disrupted and the suspects fled.

Rowles could not confirmed the nature of the disruption which stopped the robbery but confirmed that no one was injured.

The Sandton Chronicle is currently in communication with Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng of the provincial police who will confirm the full details as soon as they become available.

27 August, 10.35pm:

News24 reported that the station’s spokesperson Pippa Rowles confirmed the incident occurred in the driveway of Naidoo’s family friends’ home.

Rowles further reportedly said Naidoo was unharmed but his phone, laptop and iPad were stolen.
