Peter and The Wolf and other ballets

The Johannesburg Youth Ballet presents a triple bill of family-friendly favourites for this year’s season. Featuring Peter and The Wolf, excerpts from the Nutcracker and the premiere of Butterfly Lovers. This enchanting line-up will touch the hearts of all ballet lovers while inspiring a new generation.

Bike, Boat and Outdoor Show 2015

Spring is more fun at the Bike, Boat and Outdoor Show. Taking place at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec, visitors can experience this exciting and true outdoor, adventure and lifestyle show platform. This year, the show will grow to include not only the Johannesburg Boat Show, the Johannesburg Motorcycle Show and the Outdoor Lifestyle Show, but will also include a dedicated fishing and diving show all at the same venue, at the same time.

Tech Expo Africa

Tech Expo Africa is a trade expo only for technology companies and professionals. An activity for the entire office, the expo facilitates the supplier and consumer technology market, where it brings together international manufacturers, distributors, major retailers, wholesalers and resellers. You will find important technology used for conferencing, debate, networking, business meetings, case studies, solution finding and brand marketing. International manufacturers are looking for distributors, resellers and retailers.

J.H. Pierneef: A Space for Landscape

J.H. Pierneef: A Space for Landscape brings together a wealth of paintings and prints from numerous collections to create the first major Pierneef exhibition in many years. It also includes a selection of works by artists who have both responded to, and undermined, Pierneef’s iconic status.

This theme of iconoclasm is particularly timely given the renewed debate in South Africa about images, symbols and figures from the country’s contested past.

Sister Act

Sister Act, the theatre show, is putting on its last set of shows this weekend at Joburg Theatre. The show is based on the top-grossing 1992 movie comedy starring Whoopi Goldberg.

The musical is written by Cheri and Bill Steinkellner, with additional book material by Douglas Carter Beane, lyrics by Glenn Slater and music by Oscar and Tony-winning composer, Alan Menken.
