Celebrating the achievements of women in business

SANDTON – The Businesswomen's Association of South Africa held its annual Gauteng Regional Business Achiever Awards ceremony at Nedbank in Sandton.

Guests were invited to celebrate the success of women in Gauteng who contribute to business, whether as entrepreneurs, professionals or in corporate business or government.

“We celebrate phenomenal women in business,” explained Suheima Mohamed, chairperson of the association’s branch in Gauteng.

“The awards create a platform for businesswomen to contribute to the economy of the country. Women interact with other women and mentor young women who are aspiring businesswomen.”

The association’s president, Farzanah Mall said the award ceremony aimed to promote gender inclusivity. “I feel blessed and humbled to head the Businesswomen Association of South Africa,” added Mall.

“Together with our sponsors and partners, you help us fulfil our mandate. I look at South Africa and see talent and resources. We all know it is time for change for the betterment of all.”

She went on to congratulate all the women being celebrated at the ceremony, and said Women’s Month gave them and others the opportunity to reflect on their successes and accomplishments.
