Spokesperson for Sandton Police Station, Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, said it was confirmed in court that the deceased was a 28-year-old man and he died due to suffocation. The case was postponed for further investigation.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court again on 30 September.
Maphakela said one of the suspects was given R3 000 bail. “Three of the minors were handed back into the care of their parents because they are underage, but they will also appear in court again on 30 September,” said Maphakela.
“One suspect was refused bail and another one did not apply for bail.”
