VIDEO: Five armed robbers attack customers at restaurant in Wynberg

WYNBERG – Five armed robbers walked into a restaurant in Wynberg and robbed customers at gunpoint.

Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for Bramley police, said the five armed men stole cellphones, money and jewellery. “The estimated value of the items stolen amounts to R20 000,” said Maphakela.

In video footage of the incident, one of the suspects appears from behind the counter of the bar and waves his firearm at the workers. Chaos erupts but patrons are unaware of what is happening. As people start panicking, more of the customers realise that a robbery is taking place and flee the room.

One customer sitting at the bar has his phone snatched from him and a gun pointed at him as he tries to get it back.
