Enter the Super Teacher of the Year competition

JOBURG - The Internet Service Providers Association of South Africa and CoZa Cares Foundation have called for entries for the Super Teacher of the Year competition.

To enter the ICT competition, teachers have to submit a project where they demonstrate how they use IT skills to deliver a better classroom experience for pupils.

The competition recognises that tremendous strides have been made in equipping teachers with the kind of ICT skills that they may want to showcase.

According to Fiona Wallace, chief executive officer of CoZa Cares Foundation, previously, only educators who had participated in the association’s ‘Train the Teacher’ ICT skills programme were eligible to submit projects for adjudication by the ISPA Super Teacher judging panel. Wallace explained, “We have now opened the competition up to all educators currently teaching at schools throughout South Africa.”

Award winners will each receive a trophy, as well as the opportunity to present a paper on their projects at a national educational conference. Exact dates of the conference will be announced soon to participants.

Visit www.cozacares.co.za to register and for more information on the three award categories and competition entrance requirements. Deadline for applications is 25 April.
