Apple hosts feedback session

SANDTON - The auditorium of the Sandton Drive iStore was buzzing with solutions as Karen Hart, iPad facilitator for ThinkAhead, presented her feedback from the Apple Accessibility Summit in Berlin which took place from 6 to 7 November last year.

Communication officer for Core Group Mbali Zondo said, “The session was focused on how Apple has created assertive solutions for iPad for people with disabilities.”

The event was attended by a variety of therapists, caregivers and teachers who work in the field of remedial education. Zondo added, “During the presentation, Karen presented solutions for disabilities, showcasing Apple’s commitment to integrated solutions for the disabled community over the last 25 years.”

The topics covered in the presentation covered a wide variety of disabilities such as the visually impaired, by using Siri and other applications to help visually-impaired persons to produce the same quality of work as a seeing person. Another topic was the iPad’s assistance with remedial school pupils such as children with dyslexia and how it can support the learning process.
