SA impresses at golf match
ILLOVO - In a riveting international clash at the Wanderers Golf Club, South Africa managed an impressive win at the Quantum Driving Long Drive Golf match.
South Africa was pitted against Canada in the first international match to be hosted in the country, and three of the best long drive golf players gave an impressive performance.
The SA team, consisting of Jason Cook, Donovan Snyman and Gerhard Coetzee, emerged from the match with a combined long distance of 1129m, with Snyman managing the longest distance of 391m.
Canada, meanwhile, provided stiff competition through their combined distance of 1088m, with this resulting in SA winning by a close 41m.
The Canadian players consisted of Jason Davies, Niilo Schonfeld and Ryan Hawkins. The clash took place on 13 March and began at 4pm.
