One suspect arrested for business robbery

SANDTON - One suspect has been arrested and detained at the Sandton Police Station after robbing a business run from a house in Parkmore.

Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, the Sandton police spokesperson, said security guards saw two suspects carrying big bags.

“They managed to catch one suspect and the other ran away,” explained Maphakela. He said the business owner was notified by the owner of the house that there had been a break-in.

“He found the shatterproof door broken,” said Maphakela. “He said before he left the premise, he had the windows closed and doors locked.”

Maphakela added that hair products were stolen from the premise, as well as a CCTV camera, a money box and an entertainment set worth R15 000.

Maphakela also said the suspect from Alexandra was arrested and detained with no injuries.

He is expected to appear in court soon.
