VIDEO: Shootout suspects on camera

SANDTON - A video has recently surfaced of four suspects who allegedly match the description of the suspects who were involved in a shootout with police on the corner of Summit Road and Kelvin Drive in Morningside after a car chase from Bryanston on 3 February.

The video was published by Bryanston resident and eblockwatch founder Andre Snyman, and shows the suspects in a white Ford Ranger in Florida Park. Snyman added that his investigations allegedly showed that the suspects have been operating all over Gauteng since December last year.

Sandton police spokesperson Captain Kym Cloete, confirmed that at around 2.45pm on 3 February, Sandton police detectives were busy with undercover patrols when they spotted a suspicious white Ford Ranger in Bryanston. She said when police turned around, the suspects immediately accelerated and fled. The police then pursued the suspects who fired shots at them. Police returned fire.

Snyman and eblockwatch were alerted to the video through a local a neighbourhood watch in Florida Park, and urges residents from all over to join eblockwatch’s Street Talker Whatsapp group.

Snyman added, “Save 0812503989 to your contacts under eblockwatch Street Talker. Then send a Whatsapp message with the word ‘Join’ if you are already registered on eblockwatch network; or for those who have not registered before, Whatsapp the word ‘register’. Follow the prompts. This is not just any Whatsapp group, it is very special.”
