Bryanston High swimmers break records

SANDTON - Bryanston High School held its annual inter-house gala with two of their top swimmers breaking school records.

Rogan Shepherd, U14 swimmer and recipient of the Junior Victor Natanionis trophy, set a new record for 50m butterfly in 28.7 seconds, breaking the school’s record that has remained unchallenged since 1984.

Jonathan van Duyn, an U17 swimmer set the fastest time in 50m breaststroke in 27.7 seconds, breaking a school record that was set in 1997. Van Duyn also received the Victor Natanionis Trophy for his achievements in swimming.

Marketing co-ordinator for Bryanston High School, Lauren Streng said, “All in all it was a day for excellence with great swimming talent, outstanding spirit and true Bryanston High School passion.”
