Mauritius murder case postponed

HYDE PARK - Businessman and murder suspect, Peter Wayne Roberts, appeared in court on 14 January, however the case has now been postponed until 21 January.

Robert’s lawyer Nicqui Galaktiou said, “Mr Roberts appeared in court today [14 January] and the case was postponed to 21 January.”

Roberts’ faces murder charges after his girlfriend Lee-ann Palmarozza was found dead in the pool of his luxury villa at the Anahita Resort in Mauritius.

According reports, the police initially denied they were investigating the case as a murder, but Roberts’s lawyer said he had been provisionally charged for the crime and was in police custody.

Galaktiou said “Mr Roberts has been provisionally charged pending the outcome of the police investigation, which is how the system works in Mauritius.”
