The Proteas pip Laerskool Louw Geldenhuys

ILLOVO - The Proteas pipped Laerskool Louw Geldenhuys by one run to win the second KFC Getting Kids Active cricket match at Wanderers on 11 January.

Captain of the school team, Herman Davel won the toss and elected to bowl first. The Proteas managed to score 70 runs in eight overs with Proteas batsman Yolani Fourie shining with the bat. The composure of the schoolboy fielders was admirable.

The school team put up a tremendous fight to score 69 runs in their designated eight overs with Francois Steyn top scoring.

KFC Getting Kids Active has teamed up with the Proteas and are both dedicating themselves to the development of the game among the youth. They have enjoyed a successful series so far and the final decider of the three test series shall be decided in Durban next week.
