Miniature art dazzles Hyde Park

HYDE PARK - The Miniature Art Society of South Africa treated Hyde Park Corner shoppers to a plethora of beautiful artworks at an exhibition from 11 to 17 November.

The society was established in 1992 and has become a strong community with over 100 members. Established to help revive the age-old practice of miniature fine art, the society is affiliated with the World Federation of Miniaturists and has held exhibitions to high acclaim across South Africa and overseas in places such as England and Tasmania.

Representative of the society, Leonora de Lange said, “This is our annual miniature art exhibition with artists from all over the country handing in their work.”

She added that there were approximately 150 paintings in a variety of mediums such as etchings, oils and water colours.
