UPDATE: Zuma’s accident reconstruction expert takes the stand

JOBURG - Duduzane Zuma’s accident reconstruction expert takes the stand at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on 12 November.

Reports of the inquest into President Jacob Zuma’s son’s crash on Grayston Drive in Sandton continue. Two people lost their lives in the fatal accident which Zuma is considered to be a suspect.

The expert, Johannes Strydom, hired by Zuma was questioned by prosecutor, Yusuf Baba on whether he was eligible enough to offer expert advice on aquaplaning, which is the build-up of water between the road and tires.

Strydom admitted to the prosecutor that he is not trained in applied maths, tangents and road gradients. However, he said he knows the minimum and maximum length of a traffic lane.

This following Zuma’s argument when he took the stand, that he lost control of his Porsche after it hit a puddle. He added that his car spun and hit the back of the taxi, coming to a standstill and facing oncoming traffic.
