Zuma fails to brake during crash

SANDTON - President Jacob Zuma’s son, Duduzane, did not have the opportunity to brake his Porsche on the night he crashed into a minibus taxi in Sandton.

This, according to reports during the inquest into the accident at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on 10 November.

Reports state that Duduzane is off the stand and court will continue on 12 November.

Duduzane was accused of speeding during his questioning by the prosecutor Yusuf Baba.

According to Zuma’s statement, he lost control of his Porsche after it hit a puddle. It spun and hit the back of the taxi, coming to a standstill facing oncoming traffic.

However, Baba told the court that with the Porsche’s engine and most of the car’s weight at the rear, there was no way the car could have had such a fatal impact on the minibus taxi if Duduzane was not speeding.

More will follow on this story as the information becomes available.
