Springboks meet the fans at Sandton City

SANDTON - Ahead of their northern hemisphere tour on 1 November, the Springboks held a special meet and great at Sandton City.

Excited Sandton City shoppers joined a lengthy queue and waited in anticipation to meet the 26 players of the Springbok squad.

Spokesperson for the Springboks Annelee Murray said, “It is important for us as a team to be accessible to the public. They support them week in and week out.”

Muray added that the Boks were leaving for their end of year European tour to take on Ireland, England, Italy and Wales, so this was the last opportunity for the team to say goodbye to the fans.

Springboks, Tendai Mtawarira, Pat Lambie and Cobus Reinach also donated signed team shirts to the Empty Shop in Sandton City. The shop is a charity initiative where people can donate clothing for the less fortunate.
