Sandton Fire Station gets a facelift

SANDTON - Staff from Rawson Properties gave the Sandton Fire Station’s front garden area a facelift to welcome Spring Day on 1 September.

Colleen Thomson, on behalf of the property company, said the owners of the Sandton franchise noticed that the fire station’s garden area was looking untended and there was litter strewn all over.

In order to mitigate resident and passer-by complaints, the owners, Ben and Adriana Cilliers, then decided to take action and met with Abraham Mlangeni from the Sandton Fire Station and offered to assist.

Staff have assisted with maintaining the fire station’s front garden for the past few months and have agreed to continue to do this for the next three years.

They picked up litter, watered the plants, planted flowers and cleaned up the rest of the garden area.

“The entire Rawson Sandton team worked tirelessly throughout the past few months to clean and get the gardens ready to launch for Spring Day,” explained Thomson.

“Many passers-by were elated as they saw the effort and great determination of the Rawson Sandton crew to get the beautiful flowers planted.

“The whole initiative was a hands-on approach to an area of Sandton that is not always given the full attention it deserves, especially considering that it is the foundation where our very own unsung heroes report to.”
