Bed shake during Jozi quake

JOHANNESBURG – Another tremor has shaken Jozi; this time a magnitude 4.6 with the epicentre west of Orange Farm.

This is according to the United States Geological Society. According to reported the tremor shook the ground beneath residents as they slept at around 1.15am.

The USGS’ Dale Grant said, “Earlier today we recorded a 4.6 magnitude earthquake 12 km west off Orange Farm, we consider it a shallow event.”

The tremor was felt in Auckland Park, Craighall, Hyde Park and other areas of Johannesburg.

@MapsMaponyane said on twitter “In other news, the Earth got excited for Friday too, with reports of another tremor in the early hours of the morning…”

While @Samsoneezy said, “Another slight tremor today. What’s up with quakes in South Africa. World’s coming to an end.”

This tremor comes one month after a 5.6 magnitude shake claimed the life of one person and injured 17 others, affecting mostly the North West province.

  1. I really don’t know what is happening in South Africa.When we were sleeping didn’t even check what time was it ,I had the bed,tv stand and cupboards shaking ….. What’s is happening????
