Two couples robbed at gunpoint in Parkmore

PARKMORE - Two couples in Parkmore were left traumatised after they were robbed at gunpoint by two men.

The incident took place at the Field and Study Recreational Centre on the weekend of 2 August. According to the complainant, the suspects approached the two couples having a braai and as the complainant stood up to see what they wanted, one of the suspects hit him over the head with a gun.

Captain Kym Cloete, spokesperson for the Sandton police, confirmed that a case of robbery had been opened at the station. The police are still investigating the matter.

Meanwhile, a man in Kelvin had R13 000 stolen by a contractor. According to the complainant, the suspect approached him and offered to install a gate motor and extend the walls around his house, which the complainant agreed to. The complainant then made payments to the suspect but none of the work was done.

Cloete confirmed that a case of theft was opened at the station and investigations into the matter were still underway.
