Movie star writes compelling book
SANDTON - From actress and model to author, Casey B Dolan launched her second book at Michelangelo Towers in Sandton.
During the launch of When the Bough Breaks, Dolan did not want to give away the plot of the story. She said, “I don’t want to ruin the journey for the reader. The book is about love, addiction and infidelity.”
Dolan added that she is in the process of writing a sequel to the book and that she also wants to produce her own films one day.
She said she has been writing for as long as she can remember. “I was first published in my primary school when I was six,” said Dolan. She thanked everyone who helped her get through her second book. “I now understand what it means to have people who care and support something that is so deep inside your heart,” said Dolan. “That to me is a big thing.”
Guests, friends and family of Dolan were invited to Annica’s Boutique Restaurant to listen to her speak about her book and her experiences while she was in the process of writing the book. Dolan said she has overcome various obstacles throughout her career.
She is a single mom and is considered a role model for other young women. Dolan also recently won a Best Actress Award at the Julien Dubuque International Film Festival in the USA for her lead role in the South African movie Konfetti.
At the launch she also announced that Spanish and French rights have been sold for the novel, which means she will soon have an international audience for her book.
