Dining with Miss Universe 2019 in Sandton
Meeting Zozibini Tunzi over a delicious lunch prepared by @Deli on @Sandton.
Sandton resident, Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi, hosted a gourmet lunch at @Deli on @Sandton – which was celebrating their harvest table launch.
Tunzi, who has been a residential influencer for @Sandton for a year and two months, has collaborated with Chef Carolina Rasenti in creating Tunzi’s favourite dish: salmon pasta.
“I love pasta a lot, and I love seafood pasta,” said Tunzi, who elaborated: “Pasta, salmon, and some cream in it; very simple, because I travel a lot and I’m always busy, and I don’t get a lot of time to cook. It takes 15 minutes maximum to make.”
Even after winning the prestigious title of Miss Universe, Tunzi remains a humble woman who isn’t shy to show up in the kitchen and whip up a good, hearty meal. Her love for food is inspired by the homely meals Tunzi recalls having been raised on.
“I grew up in a house full of women, with my mom, and she loves to cook,” Tunzi said. “It’s just unfortunate that I don’t have that time, now, to [cook] as much: But cooking is something I have loved doing with my mom in the kitchen.”
According to Tunzi, she’s lived as a resident at @Sandton for a year and two months – praising the residential and hotel precinct for its cutting-edge convenience.
“I call it a community because we have everything here,” said Tunzi. “Whether I want to go to the gym or the spa, and then, once again, to come and grab food downstairs on @Deli that’s not just ready, but also very homey: It has that kind of ‘home feel’ [that] it sometimes feels like I made it myself.”
Tunzi shared lovely words addressing all the South Africans who identify with her life’s story, particularly expressing well-wishes to young women who regard her as their role model.
“I just want to send that message of hope: Being able to chase after your dreams, being relentless in wanting to get to where you are,” Tunzi concluded. “I want young girls and women to look at me and see their faces reflected in mine: so, the biggest take-away I would ever want from someone is to know that everything is possible for them regardless of where they are.”
@Deli’s chef Carolina Rasenti elaborates further on Zozibini Tunzi’s favourite dish:
“So, what you have at the moment is the Salmon pasta that we created, Zozi and I together, when she told me that her favourite food is seafood pasta,” Rasenti said. “Because seafood pasta is quite complicated, I made something that I thought would be perfect for her lifestyle.
According to Astrino Nicoloudakis, the chief investment officer for Acsion – the corporate body which manages the @Sandton precinct – the harvest table launch at @Deli makes dining, and convenient shopping pleasant, and life a lot easier to manage.
