Farzana Mayet is the founder of the Men of Valour Awards says that the purpose of the ceremony is to honour and celebrate the hard work of ordinary men who are leaders in their respective fields and positions.

An award ceremony dedicated to celebrating ordinary men who do extraordinary things in their community were the main reason why the Men of Valour Awards was created.

“What made me create this ceremony was mainly seeing that CEOs and MDs received recognition, rightfully so, but it got me thinking, what about our ordinary and extraordinary men who are making a difference every day, they too deserve a spotlight,” said the founder of the Men of Valour Awards, Farzana Mayet.

Key speakers who joined the festivity were leader of Build One South Africa, Mmusi Maimane, and the Mayor of Johannesburg, Thapelo Amad, who shared a few words.

“We are seeing major changes in our world, from ongoing power outages to extreme violence, and all of us are deeply worried about our country. Do not despair, this is another moment where great leaders such as yourselves will rise to repair the world. We are all capable of making a positive change in our world. I want to congratulate everyone in here, leadership isn’t always seen in government, true leadership is within everyone,” said Maimane.
