Miss SA 2022 and Imbumba Foundation tackle social issues

Founder of Imbumba Foundation, Richard Mabaso, shares his excitement on new partnership with Miss South Africa 2022, Ndavi Nokeri as they assist schools learners with sanitary pads.

Members of the Sandton-based organisation tackling period poverty, Imbumba Foundation and women’s clothing store Forever New recently teamed up with Miss South Africa 2022 Ndavi Nokeri on her campaign aimed at empowering girls.

According to the foundation’s communication director Sina Moyane, the collaboration between the parties was regarded as the perfect match made in heaven due to the sharing of values and vision.

Nokeri’s campaign, Ed-Unite aims at bridging the gap of inequality within economically marginalised communities.

According to Moyane, the Ed-Unite campaign’s objective was to raise funds for better school facilities, medical and menstrual hygiene support and the improvement of sports for girls.

Miss South Africa Ndavi Nokeri embraces a learner at Mashooro Secondary School in Limpopo.

“We are delighted that Miss SA reached out to the Imbumba Foundation to collaborate on empowering girl children through menstrual hygiene support and essentially keeping them in school. We look forward to growing our partnership with Miss SA and empowering adolescent girls across South Africa together,” said the founder of Imbumba Foundation, Richard Mabaso.

The joint partnership started its campaign on November 29 at Mashooro Secondary School in Limpopo where members distributed care packages to the learners.

“I have always been passionate about helping people and am delighted that through Miss SA, I have the opportunity to help bridge the inequality gap through different mediums in schools,” said Nokeri.

Moyane said the partnership would branch out to other provinces by 2023.
